Mud on your boots, dust in your throat and a name worth defending. Every ledger, every warrant and every telegram on this frontier was written by someone who rode here before you.
The Territory
A world that keeps its own records
Chronicles Roleplay 1870 is a serious, story-first western server. There are no respawn-and-forget shootouts here — a bullet costs you something, a debt follows you into the next town, and the name you build is the only thing you truly own.
Our systems are written in-house for this world specifically: a working bank with loans and markets, an elected government, a telegraph network, courts and jails. Nothing is a menu for its own sake. Every one of them exists because a player needed it for a story.
Come with a character, not a build. We will handle the rest.
Frontier Life
What waits for you out there
Banking & Fortune
Personal and gang accounts, wire transfers, cheques, gold exchange, loans with real interest and a commodity market that moves whether you are watching it or not.
Law & Order
Sheriffs with paperwork, not just pistols. Warrants, evidence, bounties, cells and a court that can actually rule against you. Crime here has a paper trail.
Government
Elected offices, licences, permits and taxation. Policy is written by players, argued over by players, and quietly ignored by exactly the sort of player you would expect.
The Telegraph
Word travels at the speed of the wire. Send telegrams town to town, run classifieds, call for a doctor at three in the morning and hope somebody is awake.
Contraband
Cultivation, cooking, cutting and moving product through territory that is watched. Profitable right up until it is not.
Wagon Heists
Coordinated robberies with real planning: scouts, timing, an escape route and a fence who will take a cut. Bring people you trust.
Gold Panning
Cold rivers, aching backs and the occasional glitter in the pan. Honest work for the patient, and a fine cover story for everyone else.
Written For This World
Our HUD, chat and interfaces were built for 1870 — no neon, no floating icons, nothing that drags you out of the century.

The short version
The full rules live in Discord.
Stay in character
No modern slang, no out-of-character chatter in the world. If it did not exist in 1870, it does not exist here.
Value your life
Act like the bullet is real. Fear, hesitation and surrender are all valid — and usually better story than a gunfight.
No random deathmatch
Violence needs a reason the other person can understand afterwards. Build to it.
Give people an out
Robbery, kidnapping and revenge are welcome — so long as your victim gets a story out of it too.
No metagaming
What you heard on stream or in a voice call is not what your character knows. Keep the two apart.
Respect the roster
18+, mature and civil out of character. Take grievances to staff, not to the town square.
